SKANSEN IN STOCKHOLM

Skansen is an open-air museum located on the island of Djurgården in Stockholm, Sweden. Founded in 1891 by Artur Hazelius, Skansen was the world’s first open-air museum and is a popular tourist destination in Stockholm.

Skansen living history museum nestled in the heart of Stockholm is a time capsule transporting visitors back to traditional Swedish life as you wander through the museum you’ll encounter over 150 historic buildings each one painstakingly relocated from all corners of Sweden from rustic farm houses.

 Skansen is an open air museum that sort of about Swedish culture and history as well as sort of a Nature Park with animals they do a lot of work with conservation and that sort of thing so I’m really hoping to see some cool Nordic animals.

 

The museum showcases traditional Swedish culture and architecture through a collection of historic buildings from different regions of Sweden. Visitors can explore farmsteads, windmills, and manor houses, all of which have been carefully preserved and restored to their original state.
