Welcome to VikingsDiary — a travel blog dedicated to uncovering the magic, history, and natural beauty of Sweden and Scandinavia.
VikingsDiary was born from a genuine love of exploration. My name is Sydul, and I live in Sweden — a country that never stops surprising me. From the medieval streets of Stockholm’s Gamla Stan to the silence of a northern forest in winter, I created this blog to share the Sweden I experience every day, and to help you discover it for yourself.
My Story
I started VikingsDiary because I wanted to go beyond the typical travel guides. Sweden is a country with layers — ancient Viking heritage, breathtaking landscapes, world-leading innovation, and a way of life built around nature and balance. I wanted a place to capture all of it honestly, through my own eyes and experiences.
What began as a personal travel diary has grown into a destination guide covering everything from Stockholm’s iconic landmarks to hidden archipelago islands, seasonal festivals, Swedish culture, and the best of Scandinavian outdoor life.

Why VikingsDiary?
There are many travel blogs about Sweden, but VikingsDiary is written by someone who actually lives here — someone who has stood on the shore of Gotland, watched the northern lights over Kiruna, and celebrated Midsommar with locals. The insights you find here come from real experience, not research done from a desk.
Whether you are planning your first trip to Sweden, dreaming of moving here, or simply curious about Scandinavian life, I hope VikingsDiary gives you something useful, inspiring, and honest.
